Whats more, your missed payments will be listed for 5 years or more, so unless you are willing to wait for a long time, you can forget about borrowing money with your own bank any time soon. 

Until recently, there was nothing you could do.  You couldn't get a new mortgage, car loan or even personal loan - your hands were tied.

Even if remortgaging would reduce your monthly repayments & save you money, most of the banks still wouldn't listen.

The good news is that things have changed!!!
